Interactive Timelines

TimeToast.com create and share timelines.
Beautiful interactive timelines perfect for lectures or student projects! TONS are available to use already online, don't reinvent the wheel.

Interactive timelines can take the place of powerpoint presentations and would be great with smartboards too. You can also link to them from your class pages.

Voki.com speaking avatar, use built-in laptop microphone to record any text. The custom avatar will speak along with your recording. Very amusing. You create an account so it saves your avatar, and you just change the recordings when you want.

How about a speaking version of yourself on your class page?

Language classes? Students can record themselves and email it to you.


Wordle, Tagul word clouds

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or take a screen shot and past into PhotoShop to save a .jpg.
